Pimkie withdraws from the Spanish market

The end of an era in Spain, Pimkie’s presence has already been reduced in recent years through staff cuts and store closures. However, the fashion chain will continue to be represented in some countries, above all in France with over 300 locations.

The development of the Pimkie fashion chain, founded in 1971 in Lille, France, on the Spanish market was overseen by its subsidiary Dimodes. From November 2021, Dimodes was part of the German Young Fashion Group, which also operated as a franchise partner of Pimkie in several countries, including Spain, Portugal, Austria and Germany.

One year later, in November 2022, the Young Fashion Group became part of the Belgian Bluegray Group. In the meantime, Dimodes was liquidated, which meant that Pimkie, which had been present in Spain since 1991, also left the market and closed its distribution network of 26 stores.

This has now been announced by Pangea Retail, the brand’s franchise partner for the entire Spanish market.
