The off-price company will offer brands from the areas of women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, as well as accessories, shoes and home accessories up to 60 % cheaper (in terms of RRP). The acquisition talks and rental contract negotiations with TK Maxx were conducted by MEC’s leasing department. MEC was also responsible for the technical side of the project and carried out the construction work for the consolidation of several rental spaces. The expansion was discussed in close cooperation with TK Maxx and an ambitious schedule was drawn up.
“TK Maxx’s business concept is very popular with customers and has been increasingly in demand in Germany for years. For the Shopping Cité in Baden-Baden it is therefore a very good addition to the tenant mix and contributes to increasing the attractiveness of the shopping centre”, explains Jochen Schenk, CEO of Real I.S. AG. “By locating TK Maxx, we hope to increase visitor frequency in the centre, a fact that will also benefit other tenants”.
Built in 2006, the “Shopping Cité” on the western outskirts of Baden-Baden has a total rental area of 24,000 sq m and 800 parking spaces. The Bundesstraße 500 runs directly in front of the hybrid retail park, the Shopping Cité is connected to the public transport system by several bus lines. The city centre of Baden-Baden can be reached in less than 10 minutes by public transport.
“With its two attractive domed buildings, the center is a real architectural eye-catcher and invites you to take a relaxed shopping stroll and linger in the numerous restaurants and bars,” promises center manager Manfred Schneider of the MEC.
On behalf of Real I.S. AG, MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG is responsible for the management of Shopping Cité Baden-Baden, including leasing, operation and marketing.
