Scallier gets building permit for retail park in Vaslui, Romania

The Polish company Scallier has obtained the building permit for a new retail park with a leasable area of 9,975 sq m (GLA). The facility is located in Vaslui, a city in eastern Romania, and scheduled to be put into service in 2022.

The retail park will be the fifth property developed by Scallier in Romania: after the retail projects in Rosiorii de Vede and Focsani opened last year, as well as developments in Turda and Timisoara currently in progress. Over 4,000 sq m are already leased and the tenants include such brands as New Yorker, Hervis, Designer Outlet and ZOO Center.

“Our properties are tailored to local conditions as much as possible and are of great interest to retail chains: spaces in our facilities are rented before they are put into use,“ says Wojciech Jurga, Managing Partner at Scallier, responsible for managing the company’s development in Romania.

“Thanks to the priority effect, we effectively build awareness of new commercial locations and attract both local and international retail chains, including tenants with stringent requirements regarding the quality of space, which, until now, have been lacking on local markets,” adds Adrian Aleman, Development Director at the Romanian branch of Scallier.

The tenants of retail parks built by Scallier in Romania and already operating are Sinsay, Pepco, KiK, Animax, Hervis, Martes Sport, Jysk, CCC, Deichmann, and Flanco.
