Laura Jauhiainen, CFA, has been appointed as Vice President, Strategy and Investor Relations at Citycon as of 1 January 2021. In this role, she will lead Citycon’s new strategy function and support Citycon’s strategic transformation further towards a mixed-use real estate portfolio combining modern retail with residential, office and municipal service space.

The company has purchased the “6X6” building in downtown San Francisco. Following a transformation, the retail destination will be anchored by IKEA and will be complemented by mixed-use offerings.

Urbanization is a global mega-trend. Therefore, urban regeneration projects have become increasingly relevant. Considering that Christmas is coming, we can expect customers to return to shopping centres quickly as soon as they are allowed to, resulting in an exceptional increase in footfall and revenue.

Following an investment in the amount of 70 million euros, Supernova Ljubljana Rudnik has entered a new phase of development, becoming one of the largest shopping centers in Slovenia. The completion of all work is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.

Revitalization is absolutely essential when it comes to aligning retail locations with the “new normal”, emphasizes Christine Hager, Managing Director / Head of Shopping Center Asset Management at redos, in an interview with ACROSS.

Work has begun on site on a major 180-acre mixed-use development set in a prime location in Gloucestershire. Led by renowned Cheltenham-based property developer Robert Hitchins, the development will feature a designer outlet and lifestyle retail destination, a flagship garden centre, much-needed homes and a range of local amenities.
