SES: Four Winners of the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024

For the fifth time, SES Spar European Shopping Centers awarded the yip.at Business Promotion Prize, which covers EUR 10,000 and exclusive promotional space in the 15 SES shopping centers in Austria, to the best implemented business ideas in stationary retail via its yip.at digital initiative.

In a two-stage selection process, a total of four winning projects were chosen from over 250 submissions from all over Austria: CR Lederwerkstatt from Salzburg, “Bloomerie” from Lower Austria and “All about Period” from Vienna were honored. “Mafee” from Styria received a special prize.

“When I see how committed and passionate the many entrepreneurs from all over Austria are about enriching bricks-and-mortar retail with their creative ideas and innovative concepts, I am proud that we are supporting these courageous personalities with yip. at and our business promotion award to give these courageous personalities even more visibility and tailwind for their continued success,” emphasizes SES CEO Christoph Andexlinger, who congratulated four entrepreneurs from Vienna, Lower Austria, Salzburg and Styria on their success in the two-stage selection process at the award ceremony at EUROPARK Salzburg on Monday, November 11, 2024.

First place and 5,000 euros in prize money went to “CR Lederwerkstatt” by Christina Roth in Salzburg. Second place and 3,000 euros in prize money went to “Bloomerie” in Wiesmath by Jasmin Weber, third place and 2,000 euros in prize money to “All about Period” in Vienna by Melanie Zemsauer. In addition to the prize money, the winners will also have the opportunity to present themselves in one of the 15 SES shopping centers in Austria. Daniela Huber-Peter and Damaris Unger received the special prize of exclusive promotional space in an SES shopping center with their “Mafee” project in Graz.

The winning concepts of the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024 in detail:

1st Place (endowed with 5,000 euros): CR Lederwerkstatt, City of Salzburg

Entrepreneur Christina Roth impressed the yip.at community and the expert jury with her “CR Lederwerkstatt”. Located in Getreidegasse in the heart of the city of Salzburg, Christina Roth demonstrates her special craftsmanship and creates, restores and repairs individual leather goods. She also offers leather processing workshops. The Salzburg native received the most votes for this project and came first in the yip.at Business Promotion Award and was presented with a prize money check for 5,000 euros by SES CEO Christoph Andexlinger.

2nd Place (endowed with 3,000 euros): Bloomerie, Wiesmath / Lower Austria

Under the motto “Forever Bloom”, Jasmin Weber preserves the most beautiful day of life for her customers. Because “Bloomerie” in Wiesmath in the district of Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria makes bridal bouquets everlasting and transforms these special flowers into a floral work of art that blooms forever. With much love and dedication, Jasmin Weber reinterprets the traditional art of flower pressing to capture a special day in a magical picture frame forever. The dedicated founder thus secured second place in the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024 and a grant of EUR 3,000.

3rd Place (endowed with 2,000 euros): All about Period, Vienna

Melanie Zemsauer, the third-place winner of the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024, has opened the first specialist store for menstruation and the female cycle in Vienna with her project “All about Period”. She is all about natural period products for more well-being and flow in her customers’ lives. The diverse “All about Period” range extends from period underwear to Tens devices for pain reduction. Melanie Zemsauer also offers workshops and personal consultations. With the 2,000 euros in prize money, she can continue to invest in the variety of products in her shop.

Special prize promotion area SES Shopping Center: Mafee, Graz

The “Mafee” project also left a lasting impression on this year’s yip.at Business Promotion Award expert jury. “Made by hand with heart” is the slogan of Daniela Huber-Peter and Damaris Unger – and this is exactly what customers appreciate when it comes to handmade and sustainable baby and children’s items in organic quality. The products are of high quality, with attention to detail and are handmade in the small studio in Graz. Starting with baby equipment, through handmade wooden toys to school bags and woolen clothes – there is something for every child. This combination of passion and product quality helped “Mafee” to win a one-week promotional space in one of the 15 SES shopping centers at the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024.

The aim of yip.at is to make retail, gastronomy, service and craft businesses “from the neighborhood” across Austria even more visible to customers. In addition, a yip.at business sponsorship award was launched for the fifth time in 2024, for which all companies registered on yip.at and operating on a stationary basis – regardless of location, company size or industry – could apply. In a two-stage process involving community voting on yip.at and an expert assessment, the independent jury of experts selected the four best projects from over 250 submissions from all over Austria and awarded a total of EUR 10,000 in prize money as well as exclusive promotional space in the 15 SES shopping centers in Austria. This year, an additional promotional space was awarded as a special prize.
