Sizekick — The Sizing Solution For Fashion E‑commerce

The purchase and subsequent return of clothing articles due to their potentially wrong right size or fit is an everyday headache for consumers as well as fashion e-retailers. To reduce returns and make the purchases more accurate, Munich-based startup Sizekick uses artificial intelligence and exact body measurements, while also boosting retailers’ conversion.

Thanks to an AI-based tool by Sizekick, users’ chances of finding the right size straight away when shopping online increases considerably. This also improves the shopping experience and avoids unnecessary returns and the associated CO2 emissions.

With strategic partner Hohenstein at their side and an expert team at the helm of the startup, the Sizekick size advisor was launched in 2023. The company’s AI combines individual body measurements with the 75-year size and fit expertise of its strategic partner, Hohenstein, which also became one of the startup’s investors with an input of 1.3 million euros early on.

The software takes the following steps into account while collecting the necessary information:

After entering the required information such as height, weight and age, the “Bodyfinder” tool shows users different body shapes for comparison, which allows them to choose the body shape that most closely matches theirs. Afterwards, if the tool is used with a cell phone, a video-based body scanner will determine body mass, making the assessment even more accurate. Finally, the tool calculates the right size based on the information provided.

Sizekick’s innovative solution can add significant value for fashion brands and online shoppers alike by using accurate body measurements to recommend correct clothing sizes. The body measurements are automatically anonymized and used exclusively for the recommendations.

Among the first customers to use the startup’s AI sizing tool are German premium brand marc Cain, Swiss multi-brand shop Rrrevolve, as well as US-based premium outdoor brand Black Diamond.
