Sophia Pertig has taken over as Group Head of Real Estate Project Management for Germany, Shopping Centers and Hotels at Union Investment with effect from December 1, 2023. She succeeds Ernst Högemann, who is retiring from the company.

Born in Berlin, she has worked in real estate project management at Union Investment since 2016. Together with her 11-strong team of project managers, architects and engineers, she is responsible for providing technical support for acquisitions and sales in Germany, overseeing project developments and monitoring the technical management and maintenance of existing properties. Sophia Pertig reports to Bent Mühlena, Head of Real Estate Project Management. Her group is currently responsible for 13 projects in a wide range of real estate asset classes.

Pertig holds a Master of Engineering in Facility Management and Real Estate Management. Before joining Union Investment, she spent more than four years at Strabag Property and Facility Services GmbH, where she held senior positions in technical property management and was responsible for sustainable and technical building management as well as process optimization and implementation.

“We are delighted to be able to fill this management position in project management with strong ties to the areas of sustainability and performance-oriented portfolio management with Sophia as an experienced in-house employee. The experience Sophia has gained in numerous modernization projects, such as TRIIIO in Hamburg, will help us enormously with the important transformation tasks in the portfolios,” says Henrike Waldburg, Managing Director of Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.
