SportScheck opens new stores in Germany

Signa subsidiary SportScheck currently operates 34 stores in Germany. These will be expanded by three top locations, each with 2000 to 3000 sq m of space: Frankfurt’s Zeil, Berlin’s Tauentzienstrasse and Leipzig’s Hainstrasse.

Opening dates have not yet been communicated. The team from BNP Paribas Real Estate was responsible for brokering the leases.

In addition to its own SportScheck app in the DACH region, the multi-channel company also operates an online store with over 50,000 items from around 500 brands, which is visited by around 58.8 million customers a year. The product range focuses on outdoor, fitness, running, soccer and winter sports. The stores are frequented by around 10.1 million customers, who are happy to receive advice from the sports-minded staff, but also take advantage of the numerous services such as treadmill analysis, ski and hiking boot fitting.
One of Germany’s leading sports retailers can look back on a history spanning more than 70 years:
The company’s roots go back to 1946, when Otto Scheck in Munich tailored warm clothing for winter sports from old military stock.
