Now the voting phase starts for the yip.at community, who can support the projects with a vote via Instagram. The winning projects will be announced in Salzburg on Monday, November 11, 2024. The winners will receive a total of 10,000 euros and a promotional space in one of the 15 SES shopping centers throughout Austria.
Launched by Austria’s leading shopping mall operator SES during the pandemic, the yip.at initiative aims to support start-ups and small businesses operating in Austria to make their ideas and projects visible. The main aim is to strengthen entrepreneurial diversity in the brick-and-mortar retail and trade sector in Austria.
Community-Voting is open until October 30, 2024
Over 200 submissions of innovative and creative business ideas from all over Austria have been received in recent months. They all had the chance to win the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024, endowed with a total of 10,000 euros, or a promotional space in one of 15 SES shopping centers in Austria with their stationary retail concept. Each project was carefully examined by the jury of four experts. Martin Kaswurm, Managing Director of the live marketing agency Chaka2, Incubator Managing Director Dejan Jovicevic, SES Spar European Shopping Centers Head of Marketing Stefanie Kocher and Head of Leasing Friedrich Einböck selected ten promising projects from all submissions for the public vote, which will run from now until October 30, 2024. The winners of the yip.at business promotion will be determined by combining the votes on yip.at with the final jury assessment and will be officially announced on Monday, November 11, 2024.
The top 10 of the more than 200 projects submitted in the area of stationary retail represent a wide range of industries and ideas from all over Austria. From craft businesses to specialist stores for feminine hygiene products. It shows just how innovative and diverse bricks-and-mortar retail is in Austria – and it is precisely these exciting projects that yip.at wants to provide additional support for through the digital platform and the Business Promotion Award.

“The submission phase for the yip.at Business Promotion Award 2024 has impressively demonstrated how imaginatively and innovatively Austria’s founders think about and implement the topic of ‘stationary retail’,” says SES CEO Christoph Andexlinger.
“The many courageous entrepreneurs prove with their innovative strength that, apart from online stores, personal contact with customers is also the key success factor, regardless of whether they operate their store or workshop in shopping streets, city centers, in the Grätzl around the corner or in shopping centers,” he adds. “It is precisely these entrepreneurs that we want to support with yip.at and the Business Promotion Award, make them even more visible and support the winners in taking the next step in their business history.”
