Thomas Philipps opens new store in Gerasdorf near Vienna

At the beginning of July 2023, the first Thomas Philipps in Lower Austria, of a total of six locations throughout Austria, opened its doors in Gerasdorf near Vienna within the past year and a half.

“On average, we are up to 70 percent cheaper than the competition. That this is well received, we feel from the many satisfied customers,” says Martin Gaber Austria Managing Director of the discount store Thomas Philipps.
In addition to more than 18,000 articles, the discount store Thomas Philipps in Gerasdorf offers 200 additional special offers and seasonal goods, from food or non-food, household, interior design and decoration, clothing, toys, garden furniture and accessories, camping equipment, electrical appliances and much more, and thus also wants to attract customers from Vienna to Lower Austria. The company, which opens a store in Austria every four months on average, also aims to impress with its prices.

Today, the Thomas Philipps company operates over 250 stores throughout Germany, Lithuania and also in Austria. The start took place in Köflach in Styria, further locations were opened in Enns, Oberwart, Siegendorf, Kittsee and now in Gerasdorf. But it all began in 1986, when the company was founded as a small special item store with five permanent employees and the first stores in Dinslaken and Geldern.
Thomas Philipps celebrates the opening of its 100th store in Erkelenz in 1995. Today, we employ over 700 people in logistics and administration at five locations within Germany. In our stores, another 3,500 employees work for our independent store managers.
