Le big TamTam” occupies a space in the basement of the Hanseviertel, which was operated by Mövenpick until 2007. After that, this area was closed down, with unclear prospects. It was only reopened in 2019 when Tellerrand Consulting developed a new concept, and was also able to convince the owners CBRE Investment Management of its uniqueness in the area. Meanwhile, umdasch The Store Makers were responsible for general contracting and furniture construction in this flagship project. Now, after some delay, the new food court is officially opening.
In order to preserve the old charm of the traditional shopping arcade, some regional and traditional elements were used. Large quantities of Argelith tiles with a red grain, reminiscent of the Hanseatic clinker bricks of classic Hamburg brick buildings, were used. They harmonize perfectly with the tiles in the store areas on the upper floors of the Hanseviertel.
“Le Big TamTam marks the beginning of a new era in the Hanseviertel. This is important for us, for the entire Passagenviertel and for Hamburg. Things are really coming to life here,” shared Center Manager Lars Sammann to the German news channel “Welt”.
In addition to the culinary delights, regular events will turn “Le Big TamTam” into an even livelier meeting place. With an event stage, the bar, which is operated jointly by all partners, acts as a central meeting point. The venue caters to up to 500 guests, and is debuting a modern, standardized order-and-pay system via QR code. The bar structure consists of green plant rings that can be seen from all directions and from all entrances. Generous brass elements make the bar an elegant eye-catcher.
The organization of numerous events is also aided by the flexible opening hours of the venue. Guests can dine here Monday-Saturday from noon to evening, and from Monday to Wednesday from 11.30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Thursdays to Saturdays from 11.30 a.m. to midnight, with Sunday being the only day where the court is closed.
