umdasch The Store Makers and David Collins Studio Redesign Harrods’ Exclusive Designer Collections Department

Harrods has set another milestone in the ongoing transformation of the luxury department store with the opening of its redesigned Women’s Designer Collections department. umdasch The Store Makers was instrumental in the realization of this premium area and played a key role in creating a unique shopping experience.

The new Women’s Designer Collections is located in the renowned Knightsbridge store and was developed in collaboration with David Collins Studio. The carefully considered spatial concept combines a special selection of luxury brands with an innovative approach to design. The different areas have been designed to celebrate the unique identity of each designer while creating a harmonious overall atmosphere.

Exclusivity Meets Unique Customer Experience

The store concept is based on a visually appealing yet functional environment that takes the entire shopping experience to a new level. The elegant arrangement of the spaces enables intuitive navigation through the department and a clear grouping of the collections. Tailor-made shop-in-shop solutions mixed with exclusive spaces provide the perfect setting for both established luxury labels and up-and-coming designers. A pavilion integrated into the space rounds off the concept and sets special accents in the overall concept.

Luxury And Craftsmanship Combined

From the construction drawings of the individual fixtures and fittings to the precise assembly – based on the design concept of the renowned David Collins Studio – the umdasch Store Makers played a key role in the creation of the new department with the implementation of the store fitting and its installation. Stephen Champion, Project Manager at umdasch UK, comments on the renewed successful collaboration as follows: “This project represents the best of both worlds – outstanding design coupled with excellent craftsmanship. Fine materials such as marble floors, fabric panels and luxurious upholstery emphasize the exclusivity of the area and set the stage for the collections on display. A finely tuned lighting concept creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes shopping a special experience. Exclusive, individually designed changing rooms with custom-made details offer customers additional comfort and privacy. In order to reflect the quality of Harrods even in the smallest detail, the high-quality workmanship of all materials was a top priority. The umdasch store makers were once again able to showcase their expertise and ensured the seamless implementation of all design elements with the utmost precision.

Harrods In Transition In Partnership With umdasch

With the transformation of the Women’s Designer Collections Department, umdasch The Store Makers has made another major contribution to the design of Harrods’ exclusive luxury retail spaces. As part of the ongoing transformation, Harrods is further enhancing its most iconic departments. The Store Makers by umdasch have been supporting the luxury department store since 2017 and have already been entrusted with numerous other projects, such as the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar and the Women’s Holiday & Occasion Rooms.
