The City Center Amstetten shopping center is planning a new food court area that will offer even greater culinary variety. umdasch The Store Makers, the Amstetten-based shopfitting and design expert, is responsible for the concept of the new food court.

City Center Amstetten, the largest shopping center in the Mostviertel region, is in the process of repositioning itself in order to further strengthen its role as a local and long-distance supplier in the region. As part of this development, the focus is on optimizing the branch mix, with culinary delights playing a particularly important role. Since summer 2024, a modernized gastronomy area has been offering shoppers even more culinary options on an area of 1,500 sq m.

Responsible for the design concept of the food court in the CCA, umdasch The Store Makers´ delivered a design that perfectly reflects the unique needs of the local community, as Hannes Grubner, Center Manager of City Center Amstetten, describes: “The partnership with umdasch The Store Makers has been invaluable to us. The design concept by umdasch The Store Makers for the food court was developed with a clear focus on innovation, aesthetics and functionality. In close cooperation with Viennese DIWAHN Architekten, a concept was created that optimally meets the needs of visitors. A central component of this design is the appealing façade concept, which creates a harmonious link between the culinary offerings and the shopping center areas and contributes to a uniform overall appearance. In addition, the umdasch designers paid particular attention to a high quality of stay when designing the food court by integrating modern design elements and seating to slow things down. This allows visitors to spend a pleasant time in the food court, inviting them to linger and enjoy. umdasch will also support the CCA in terms of furniture construction, for example with wall cladding in the public areas.

“Food courts are no longer just places to eat, but central anchor points for the shopping experience in shopping centers,” says umdasch designer Maik Drewitz, who came up with the concept for the food court area in the CCA. “Attractive gastronomic offerings can draw in their own audience and thus make a positive contribution to footfall in shopping centers. The focus here is on quality, ambience and individuality. Strategic integration of the food court into the tenant mix is crucial for its success and importance within the center.” Close cooperation with the tenants and adaptation to local conditions and target groups are important in order to make the most of the location’s potential and create unique experiences. “The trick is to find the perfect mix for each location,” explains Drewitz.

With the new food court, City Center Amstetten is sure to achieve this mix. The cooperation with umdasch The Store Makers will help to increase the attractiveness of the center and create a first-class gastronomic experience for visitors. With these innovative changes, the CCA is taking a step into the future and consolidating its position as the leading shopping center in the Mostviertel region.
