Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has worked with Bureau Veritas since 2012 to attest to the implementation of very strict standards regarding health and safety within its shopping centres. The Group today announces the reinforcement of its practices dedicated to the prevention of health risks within its European shopping centres.
Bureau Veritas, as a trusted third party, will contribute to updating the Group’s guide to Hygiene, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices used in its European centres, based on the latest recommendations of health authorities. For the first time in the Group, this will be done with the assistance of epidemiologists. Bureau Veritas will then conduct an audit of all URW’s European shopping centres in order to label them.
“Protecting the health of our teams, tenants, visitors and partners is Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s utmost priority. This initiative, led with epidemiologists, will enable us to further strengthen the excellence of our Health, Safety and Environmental practices and ensure their compliance with the latest recommendations by health authorities. Going beyond the current framework of the COVID-19 epidemic, this initiative is part of a long-term plan to ensure that our Group remains at the forefront of hygiene, safety and environment practices.“, declares Christophe Cuvillier, Group CEO, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
