Union Investment extends MEC mandate for Bethanien Center Neubrandenburg

MEC and Union Investment Real Estate are extending their cooperation at the Bethanien Center Neubrandenburg. The two companies have now signed a contract to this effect.

MEC has been responsible for center management at the retail park in Neubrandenburg since 2011. The Bethanien Center offers its customers over 40 stores and specialist stores on 44,000 sq m, including retailers such as Globus, Adler, OBI and Rossmann.

Only a few months ago, MEC, as the owner’s representative of its client Union Investment Real Estate, brought about a resolution to adopt a development plan for the city of Neubrandenburg. This serves to secure the retail location under planning law and also secures the owner’s investment in the Bethanien Center Neubrandenburg in the long term.

Last year, a Globus hypermarket was acquired as a new anchor tenant. In addition, the shopping center is to be equipped with an extensive, modern charging infrastructure for e-mobility in the coming months.
