Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier Has Announced 12 New Tenants

In recent months, further brands have been brought on board that will further differentiate the retail and lifestyle destination’s offering. With the Grand Opening on October 17, the city of Hamburg will welcome a vibrant new destination in the heart of HafenCity – a place that dynamically combines retail, residential, office space and leisure attractions.

Among others, the new lineup also includes brands that place a clear focus on offering customers sustainable options. These new concepts further differentiate the offer at the retail and lifestyle destination.

With adidas, another global brand is opening a store on 1,200 sq m store on one of the central axes in the center. The store will showcase the latest “Home of Sports” concept. The world-renowned brand is opening the unit in collaboration with PTH group.

Also joining the lineup will be Läderach, a premium chocolatier founded in Switzerland in 1962 that specialises in the famous “FrischSchoggi”. This is freshly made chocolate moulded into slabs, cracked and portioned according to the customer’s wishes.

A lifestyle brand best known for its backpacks, Kapten & Son, will also offer customers a wide range of products from sunglasses to suitcases and jackets.

LIEBESKIND BERLIN, with its impressive 170 sq m showcase corner façade has secured its first store in Hamburg’s inner city, thus also ensuring further differentiation in the retail offering.

Furthermore, Tom Tailor, HARIBO Deutschland, Hunkemöller and Deichmann are also among the new tenants.

Constantin Wiesmann, Director of Leasing Austria & Germany at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, says: “The great interest in Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier continues. In recent months we have brought further exciting brands on board, and with pre-letting rate of 93%, only a few units are still available. Together with our partners, we have great momentum on the fit-out and finalizing of stores, and the excitement of retailers for the Grand Opening on October 17 is growing.”

New Brands With A Focus On Sustainability

In line with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s plan to support the sustainable evolution of retail, another group of rental partners is characterized in particular by the fact that they place special emphasis on sustainability, especially when it comes to procurement, production and sales.

Airpaq is to open its first stand-alone store in Germany at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. The Cologne-based start-up produces backpacks and accessories from discarded airbags, seatbelts and seatbelt buckles from the automotive industry, with each piece being handmade in the EU. Additionally, Airpaq is also the winner of the European final of the Westfield Grand Prix, an international competition hosted by URW in summer/autumn 2023 to find the next generation of sustainable start-ups and young companies and support their growth.

The Avocado Show, a food concept dedicated entirely to avocados, is going to delight the guests of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier with creative and varied dishes under the motto “Pretty Healthy Food”. The restaurant works with high-quality suppliers such as Nature’s Pride, a leader in sustainable production, to source first-class avocados that are both flavourful and responsibly sourced.

Other examples of particularly sustainable rental partners, some of which come from Hamburg, are Brammibal’s Donuts and The Fjord House:

Brammibal’s Donuts – Europe’s first purely vegan donut bakery, with cafés in Hamburg and Berlin is also opening in HafenCity. Brammibal’s focuses on high-quality ingredients, plant-based nutrition and sustainability along the entire value chain, from the use of resources to the purchase of goods and the reduction of waste.

A concept store based in Hamburg, TheFjordHouse combines a modern Scandinavian interior design with a sophisticated casual wear. The concept store takes into account sustainability in its products and operations, and works almost exclusively with natural materials.
