Westland welcomes Peek & Cloppenburg back to Belgian market

The German company Peek & Cloppenburg, with its headquarter in Düsseldorf, moves into the new Westland Shopping Center in Anderlecht, Belgium.

The fashion retailer makes a comeback to the Belgian market with currently 150 stores in 16 European countries, employing around 15,000 people.

“We are looking forward to being back in Belgium by autumn 2022. The renewed Westland Shopping Center in Anderlecht is a great opportunity to attract new customers,” says Stephan Fanderl, member of P&C’s management board and responsible for sales.

At the center, the fashion retailer will offer a wide range of clothing, shoes, and accessories from international brands like Hugo Boos, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and more. The sales area will cover two floors in a unit of more than 4,000 sq m located in the central section of the shopping center.  Since 2019, Westland has been undergoing major technical and aesthetic refurbishments and adding two extensions, expanding the center to 50,000 sq m.

Astrid Flamand, Senior Transaction & Development Manager–Retail (at AG Real Estate), in charge of the redevelopment confirms: “We are very excited about this partnership. We are firmly convinced that this brand is a perfect match for the Westland Shopping center’s new identity.” The transaction was assisted by Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE.
