Yves Rocher closes all stores in the DACH region

However, the brand is not to generally disappear from the market in the three countries. “Our customers will continue to find our products in our online store and can order by direct mail,” the company said.

According to the information, 140 stores and 350 employees, who were already informed in March, are basically affected by the closures. Some of the stores were already closed in the Corona pandemic, because with the current business model one is no longer able to operate sustainably and successfully.
According to its own information, the German subsidiary of the cosmetics group, which owns several brands, manages online sales and the branch network in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from Stuttgart. Groupe Rocher has more than 15,000 employees internationally and annual sales of more than 2.3 billion euros.

Company founder Yves Rocher is considered a pioneer in the field of natural cosmetics. He launched the company in 1959 in the village of La Gacilly , in Brittany, when he set up a laboratory in his parents’ house and handmade a cream from figwort, which he shipped from there. In 1969, the first store was opened in Paris. Today, the brand advertises high-quality products at affordable prices and produces creams, shower gels and perfumes, among other products.

From the cultivation of the plants, to the harvest, to the manufacture of the products, to the distribution through the retail trade – the complete value chain is in the hands of the company. This makes it possible to control every step of production, for example, to reduce environmental impact and ensure perfect traceability.

Yves Rocher is also one of the pioneers in reducing plastic consumption: it has been doing without plastic carrier bags since 2006, 10 years before the EU law. By 2030, the company aims to reduce plastic consumption by 30% and to use 100% recycled or recyclable plastic.
